The closest country to Cyprus is Turkey (Asia Minor). Greece, to the northwest, is the closest to Cyprus European country. Geographically, Cyprus is dominant in the eastern Mediterranean which impacted heavily on the course of history and culture in general.

about modal

The main features of the position of Cyprus are:

  • Cyprus is situated in the middle of the ancient world (Syria, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, Greece and Crete). For this reason the island accepted many different cultures. So it is not surprising that Cyprus has experienced a very ancient culture.
  • The geographical position of Cyprus between the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa helps the island to develop trade and tourism relations with countries in these continents.
  • The Suez Canal is a short distance on the southern coast of Cyprus.
  • The oil-producing Middle East countries are very close in Cyprus and the movement of oil, this valuable form of energy to Europe is done through the Suez Canal or through pipelines leading to the coastal cities of Lebanon, Syria and Turkey which are within walking distance to the east of Cyprus.
  • The Black Sea Motorway – Bosporus-Dardanelles-Marmara-Aegean-Mediterranean region is a short distance north of Cyprus. This helped a lot the spread of Greek culture and the development of Greek commerce.

The Republic of Cyprus became a full member of the European Union in 2004, which in turn launched a new era of economic, political, social and environmental development. In 2008, the island subsequently joined the European Monetary Union, which allowed investors to have free access to the EU market while at the same time benefiting from lower costs and greater price transparency in the euro area, thus increasing confidence in and the credibility of the financial environment. This confidence continues today as Cyprus continues to enjoy growth in many areas.

High quality of life

The quality of life in the country is also noteworthy and very commendable. This quality is made better due to the fact that the cost of living is relatively low.

Beaches and sunshine

With all the enthusiasm for taxes and building rights, we have almost forgotten two of the biggest benefits of the island: 49 virgin beaches with blue flag and 340 days of sunshine per year. A delightful thought as you glide and glide along the UK’s frozen pavements on the way to work! In addition, it can be mentioned that The sun shines for approximately 340 days of the year.

Efficient Banking and other Professional Services

The Cypriot banking system is properly designed for the ease of doing business.

Cyprus has a very organized banking system that consistently takes care of the diverse needs of individuals as well as companies.

Also, there is a large pool of professional and highly skilled and educated professionals who are willing to offer their services.

These multilingual professionals can help you in Greek, Turkish, Russian and English; this is what I call consultancy at its peak! Investors can get magnificent; legal, accounting, management consultancy, and other professional services for great prices.

Infrastructural development

Cyprus has experienced immense growth in key areas that support the growth of businesses. With huge investments in telecommunications, shipping, and transportation.

The country can boast of world-class infrastructure which makes business and life much easier.

With great road networks which allow for ease in the movement from one point to another. Also, the country has 2 world class international airports which play a very key role when it comes to linking Cyprus to other parts of the world.

Cyprus offers investors a unique opportunity to obtain a permanent resident permit which can lead to a subsequent Cyprus/EU citizenship.

Although similar schemes in other countries would normally take over 6-8 years, you can secure Cypriot citizenship within 3-4 months. A major upside to the citizenship that is offered by Cyprus is that it does not require the investor to reside in Cyprus; neither does it require them to become tax residents.
